Day: August 8, 2009

we are having to move units today. we can still stay at predator ridge, but we need to pack up and move units. moving is tiring, a hassle, and not something you want to do.

unsurprisingly, my parents are both sick. i am showing stress in that i am eating way more than i usually do (where would we be without comfort eating?) and i am losing masses of hair. the kids, the least affected, are also showing their stress – jasper won't go to sleep unless i am in the same room and sebastian likes being soothed to sleep with stories of his past. i usually am worken up with a trembling child at around 3am and for the first mornings had a child in bed with me. since i am sleeping in a single bed, not a lot of sleep is being had!

yesterday sebastian asked me how many days of school were left and i had to confess that in less than three weeks he would be back in school. he was a bit horrified. "but i haven't had a holiday!" he exclaimed. and i had to agree wtih the poor little dote. dont' get me wrong, he had a great 10 days, but that's not what they are remembering right now.

have i mentioned that we are also shorttempered, a bit overcrowded and fighting for the one working computer? we don't mean to be, but we are. the kids don't mean to be loud, but they are. and it is difficult for them.

charles arrives tomorrow. i am really hoping i have a good attitude about this arrival, that i can say, "happy anniversary charles!" and focus on being with my children, instead of doing something like, "hey charles, here's your kids i've been looking after them for the past two weeks, it's your turn, see you." i will keep you posted.

although i am very grateful that we are safe, i am also very shallow, and here is my top ten list of things that i wish i had brought.

1. computer plug in cords

2. kids armbands (already replaced)

3. more clothes (girls have two dresses, two knickers, two jamas)

4. boys toys (we are missing darth vader and indiana jones)

5. camera

6. wedding rings

7. more of my medication

8. books for myself and kids

9. charger for mobile phone

10. second dvd player

have i mentioned that having a driver's license would be really helpful right now??? self loathing is quite high right now.
