lita left today

she walked out the door a little while ago, giving the kids lots of cuddles and even me one too.

i was teary, she was dry eyed.

besides what she was to my children, lita gave me freedom, peace of mind, a second opinion, a sounding board, laughter and sanity these past four years. she was an adult to talk with when charles was out of the house and i needed a discussion.

she knows what these past four years have been to me.

and it wasn’t always all about me. she became a mother too.  and it was amazing to be part of that experience and time in her life.

i don’t mind that i am the only one crying. of course she means more to me than i mean to her. i know we were a job. i am glad that she’s on her way to a life where the countdown can begin to having her family with her, so she is looking after her own family instead of someone else’s.

i am glad she is gone.

but so is a big piece.

  1. Oh dear, I hadn’t realized that this was happening now. I mean, I know it was happening, but in my own life’s happenings, I hadn’t put 2 and 2 together.
I’m sorry that your peace of mind and piece of life is gone, but I hope that while you hold her in your heart and mind’s eye you find a sense of fullness with a new soul who will also appreciate the uniqueness of your family and your love.

  2. Well, your children are still there. Sorry for the loss of your friend, but she must grow up and move on.

There are tears in my eyes and heart too, Tess, as I write you. Like you, I love Lita and consider her ‘family’. I admire your kind attitude to her leaving and moving on into the next phase of her life – but I know how hard that is for you. Much love to you, darling.

Help may be at hand . Mum has been studying maps of China and taking long distance swimming lessons. She even thinks there are stops along the way where one can get a hot cup of tea.

Lita’s new life wouldn’t have been possible without you supporting her. That, among other things, goes to show how cherished she is. She will love Canada – and if ANYTHING is needed at this end – you know we offered and I mean it….I know people 😉 …….she will be ok and so will you.
