since you all must be keeping track, you know magnificent and i have been married seven years. and yes, while the itch is definitely less for me than it was a few years ago, oh, do i need to keep an eye on mc these days.
when i come home from a trip, out of my suitcase comes extremely interesting and essential items like noxema, egyptian cotton sheets, dramamine pills (LOTS), bowls that have straws built into them (very cool), placemats featuring canada, you know STUFF like that. household misc. the kids might get new socks, or possibly some new triamenic chewables.
lo and behold, when young chuck bounced off the plane the other morning, WHAT do you think he unpacked and merrily produced ALPHABITS for their breakfast.
ALPHABITS.
he thought ALPHABITS were worth toting across the ocean? did he NOT read my blog on twinkies?
i was stunned and of course called him on it. (admittedly my mouth was full of red licorice, an essential item that he very kindly did bring back with him.)
"well, why not."
then i saw him remove a packet of fruit loops from his suitcase. FRUIT LOOPS. i am stunned. isn’t the crap count coco’s that is made in malaysia good enough for my kids? apparently not, because my man has to haul FRUIT LOOPS as well.
i have to watch this guy every minute.
of course he did bring back a kick a$$ biography of mary queen of scots complete with some good maps and family trees, so am i a leetle grateful, but still, stunned. i think he might get an earring next.

Alphabits and Froot Loops-must be a Toronto thing! I’m with Charles on this one,

Mmmm…alphabits and fruit loops. What a treat! 🙂 And a good biography to make it slightly okay that he brought home alphabits and fruit loops. Who wrote the biography? 🙂
… and People magazine, and an OPRAH magazine… uh huh?
what is it with guys and crappy breakfast cereal? i sent marshall to the store to buy cereal a couple of weeks ago and he came home with lucky charms. have i *EVER* had lucky charms in this house? no! but there they were. marshall excels at practiced incompetence. he has long been banned from starting a load of laundry or loading the dishwasher. now it seems quick trips to the grocery are out as well (don’t even ask what he came home with when i put “broccoli” on the list).
seriously, next time you need state/provenceside shopping, email me a list. really.
Next time, maybe he’ll bring home the Apple Cinnamon Cheerios, those are delicous. Have to admit that I did buy Fruit Loops for the kids, but they didn’t get them all the time, it was a “treat” cereal, same with Corn Pops and Alphabits.
What, no Capn’ Crunch or gummi bears?!!
Love ya!
Solidarity brother. Stick to your guns.
Any cocoa puffs?
Well, I have to admit, I’m a Count Chocula guy myself. Forced to eat the likes of Cheerios & Shreddies as a child – I rebelled once I was on my own & barely survived a session involving an entire box of “The Count” and a coupl eof litres of skim ( low fat, for the obvious health benefits).
Take care, Tess
